Travelling in ThailandThailand is also known as the land of the smiles, and travelling around Thailand you'll immediately see why. The Thai are extremely friendly and helpful and you'll always be greeted with wide smiles wherever you go which make travelling around the country such a great experience. With Thailand Travel Plan you can create your ideal Thailand itinerary using our travel modules. These are short, bite-sized travel experiences lasting 2-7 days. If you'd prefer to leave the planning work to us, we also have a number of suggested itineraries in which we've strung together a selection of our modules in a logical order to create a longer itinerary. You can book these itineraries as they are, but if you'd like to make some adjustments, perhaps with an extra day on the beach or a shorter stay somewhere else, just let us know. We've split our modules into three categories; Central Thailand, Northern Thailand and Southern Thailand. To request a no-obligation travel quote, go to our quote request form. |
What's the most logical route? Most travellers begin their Thailand trip in the capital Bangkok in the heart of Thailand. This invigorating city has so many highlights and it’s a great first impression of the diversity of the country. You can kick off your holiday with an Easy Going Bangkok starter pack or, a particular favourite of ours, explore Bangkok by bike. Then you’ll travel on to the legendary River Kwai where you’ll spend the night on jungle rafts and visit the floating markets. If it’s spectacular views, wildlife and waterfalls you’re after, head to Thailand’s oldest national park Khao Yai. Click here for our central Thailand modules. If you want to meet the colourful Hill Tribes and go on an elephant jungle trek, head to the mountains of Northern Thailand. This is where you’ll find the authentic rural Thailand and spectacular scenery. We thought our encounter with the local Hill Tribe people was one of the absolute highlights. We offer a number of trekkings, ranging from our short two-day “Culture & elephants” trek to our four-day “Remote hill tribe adventure” trek. If you’d prefer something a bit more relaxed we can suggest “Relaxing with the Paduang hill tribes”, in which you’ll be staying in tasteful eco lodges and charming hotels. Click here for an overview of our northern Thailand modules. For a real jungle experience Khao Yai or Khao Sok national parks in southern Thailand are the best. From central or northern Thailand you can travel on to the south for a relaxed end to your Thailand trip. Besides a couple of days of island idyll on one of the many paradise islands, you can head into the Thai rainforest with our module “Giant trees and lakes of Khao Sok” where you’ll be staying in a jungle lodge in the heart of the rainforest. If you’d like to enjoy a few days chilling out on the beach you can choose from one of our island modules. You can stay on a real Robinson Crusoe island where you can idle away the hours with pair of flippers and a snorkel, or a hammock and good book - or perhaps you’d prefer one of the livelier islands where you can enjoy the restaurants, bars and shopping at the night markets. Click here for our overview of southern Thailand modules. Click to see our various modules on our map of Thailand. |

TransportThe great thing about travelling in Thailand is that you can use so many different ways to get around; bus, boat, overnight train, domestic flights and private transfers. You might need to cover some long distances, at other times it’s just a short transfer so it helps to choose the easiest and the most fun way to travel the country. To get to the Hill Tribes in the north as well as the paradise islands in the south you can take the overnight train or a domestic flight. We will include the transport in your Travel Plan, and arrange the modules in the most logical order. If you’d like to determine your own pace you could also consider travelling by hire car. We’ve got an interesting self-drive route in northern Thailand and in the South.Accommodation For your Thailand itinerary we’ve selected small-scale accommodation with an authentic atmosphere that best reflect the local surroundings, for example an eco lodge in a lush tropical garden or a beach hut right on the beach. We’ve visited all our accommodation ourselves and make an effort to find the best spots.
