During this Indochina itinerary, you'll travel across four countries in four weeks and discover a fascinating mix of cultural highlights, historic monuments and natural beauty, experiencing the richness in culture and tradition of the four Asian countries that together make up Indochina. Starting in Bangkok, you’ll travel through the green rice paddies to Laos and across the highlands to the serene town of Luang Prabang where you’ll be woken to the sound of chiming temple bells. Then it’s into the jungle to train as a mahout and help wash the elephants. In Hanoi you’ll get your first taste of the energy of Vietnam before boarding a wooden junk and sailing through the magical world of Halong Bay. Next it’s the green fields of Sapa and the harrowing tunnels of Cu Chi in Ho Chi Minh City, before sailing to Cambodia through the Mekong Delta. Via the Killing Fields of Phonm Penh you’ll wander among the overgrown temples of Angkor Wat before ending up back in Bangkok almost a month later.

This Thailand Cambodia itinerary combines the tranquility of rural eastern Thailand with the highlights of Cambodia. Starting in Bangkok, you’ll head east in search of wild elephants and monkeys on a jeep safari in Khao Yai National Park. You’ll spend a couple of days experiencing authentic rural life during a homestay with a Thai family in the Isaan province. Join the villagers in their daily routine and live life like a local. Then you’ll fly on to Phnom Penh, capital city of Cambodia where you’ll go on a guided visit to the museum dedicated Cambodia’s harrowing past during the Pol Pot regime, and the haunting Killing Fields. Leaving the city behind you’ll travel by boat to one of the seven Wonders of the World; the temples of Angkor Wat. The complex is huge and you’ll need a guide not just to show you the way but also to tell you about the fascinating history of the Khmer empire. Rounding off your cultural Thailand Cambodia itinerary you’ll spend a couple of days relaxing on the tropical white beaches of Ko Chang in the Gulf of Thailand. Go snorkelling among coral reefs, hike up through the rainforest to a couple of waterfalls or just hang out by the pool overlooking the bay.

This Impressive Indochina tour will take you Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in under three weeks. After a short stop in Bangkok you’ll set off on a journey through Laos, beginning in Vientiane, with its French colonial influences. Then, you’ll head to Luang Prabang, voted by many travellers as ‘most’ fun destination in South East Asia. Experience life among the elephants as a mahout and enjoy a trek through the rice paddies with spectacular views across the mountain valleys. Across the border in Cambodia, you'll travel down the mighty Mekong River to the historic capital Phnom Penh, where you'll spend a couple of days before continuing on by boat to Siem Reap, home to jaw-dropping Angkor Wat. The trip ends back in Bangkok, but if you fancy spoiling yourself with a couple of days on the white tropical beaches at the end of your Thailand, Laos and Cambodia itinerary, you can extend the trip with a short stay on the island of Ko Chang.

 What is included in our Indochina itineraries ? 
- All accommodation with breakfast. Sometimes other meals are included, for example when you're staying in the jungle. Check the daily programme.
- All transport including domestic flights as described in the daily programmes.
- Excursions and organised visits with an English-speaking guide as indicated (see the descriptions).
- When necessary, assistance from our local agent, available 24 hours a day.

What is not included in our Indochina itineraries ?
- The international flights to Thailand are excluded. See flight tickets
- Travel insurance. See travel insurance
- A few of the smaller transfers are excluded. (This gives you more flexibility, so you can decide. The public transport in Thailand is well organised.
- Visa or Passport costs.
- Optional extras, such as drinks, laundry, departure taxes or items of a personal nature.
