During this Indochina itinerary, you'll travel across four countries in four weeks and discover a fascinating mix of cultural highlights, historic monuments and natural beauty, experiencing the richness in culture and tradition of the four Asian countries that together make up Indochina. Starting in Bangkok, you’ll travel through the green rice paddies to Laos and across the highlands to the serene town of Luang Prabang where you’ll be woken to the sound of chiming temple bells. Then it’s into the jungle to train as a mahout and help wash the elephants. In Hanoi you’ll get your first taste of the energy of Vietnam before boarding a wooden junk and sailing through the magical world of Halong Bay. Next it’s the green fields of Sapa and the harrowing tunnels of Cu Chi in Ho Chi Minh City, before sailing to Cambodia through the Mekong Delta. Via the Killing Fields of Phonm Penh you’ll wander among the overgrown temples of Angkor Wat before ending up back in Bangkok almost a month later. You'll see: Bangkok - Khao Yai National Park - Homestay in Thai countryside- Phnom Penh - Angkor Wat - Ko Chang
This Thailand Cambodia itinerary combines the tranquility of rural eastern Thailand with the highlights of Cambodia. Starting in Bangkok, you’ll head east in search of wild elephants and monkeys on a jeep safari in Khao Yai National Park. You’ll spend a couple of days experiencing authentic rural life during a homestay with a Thai family in the Isaan province. Join the villagers in their daily routine and live life like a local. Then you’ll fly on to Phnom Penh, capital city of Cambodia where you’ll go on a guided visit to the museum dedicated Cambodia’s harrowing past during the Pol Pot regime, and the haunting Killing Fields. Leaving the city behind you’ll travel by boat to one of the seven Wonders of the World; the temples of Angkor Wat. The complex is huge and you’ll need a guide not just to show you the way but also to tell you about the fascinating history of the Khmer empire. Rounding off your cultural Thailand Cambodia itinerary you’ll spend a couple of days relaxing on the tropical white beaches of Ko Chang in the Gulf of Thailand. Go snorkelling among coral reefs, hike up through the rainforest to a couple of waterfalls or just hang out by the pool overlooking the bay.
