Bangkok tours don't come more authentic than this. Leave cosmopolitan chaos behind you for a taste of truly rural Thailand. During this unique Bangkok tour, you'll visit a rural village buried deep within the countryside in the eastern province of Isaan. You'll stay with a family to experience some real Thai hospitality. Join your English-speaking hostess on walks through the village, visit the local temple (quite different to the golden extravagances of Bangkok), take a peek into the school classroom, and learn how the land is farmed. Maybe even indulge in a little bit of frog-hunting...

Additional information

When planning your trip, don’t forget to take account of the time required to travel between our short adventure tours (modules). For example, when travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai you should give yourself at least one rest day in Chiang Mai before starting a new module. If a module ends on Wednesday we recommend taking Thursday off and then starting a new module on Friday. In our planning, we always take into account the best links between our various adventures. Check out our Thailand transport page for more information on how best to travel between the different modules, or feel free to contact us for advice- we'll be on hand to help.

The prices quoted are per person, based on two people sharing. We can also arrange transfers between places and modules, or, if you would prefer, you can choose to arrange these yourselves locally. In the cities, there will be dozens of taxis and tuk-tuks clamouring for your business, so getting from A to B shouldn't be any problem. Breakfast is also included in the quoted prices, and any other meals that may be included are stated in the daily itinerary. For overnight travel, we use comfortable second class air conditioned sleeper trains.

We also offer exciting Thailand holidays which are built from a logical combination of these modules to form itineraries. These might give you an idea of some possible routes for your trip.
