Easy Going Bangkok: Tuk-tuks & longtails

Almost all of our Thailand tours begin in Bangkok, a truly Asian city where everything and everyone rubs shoulders- temples, monks, rickshaws, wildlife, markets, and traffic.

To make the most of Bangkok it is essential to stay in a central location. Thailand Travel Plan offers a number of comfortable hotels chosen for their location and their facilities. We'll also take you on a half day excurion around Bangkok in two of it's most famous transport options the tuk-tuk and the longtail boat.

Our prices are quoted per person, and are based on two people sharing a room including breakfast. Pre-booking your arrival transfer and hotel ensures that you'll be met by a friendly face at the airport and whisked away to your accommodation, getting your Bangkok tour off to a smooth start.

Day 1: Bangkok Arrival

You will probably arrive in Thailand feeling a little like a bedraggled cat. Your body will be stiff from air travel and you'll be feeling wiped out by jetlag. It will also take you a while to acclimatise to the heat and humidity in Bangkok. For these reasons, we suggest that you give yourselves a break with our Bangkok tour. This includes an airport transfer and two nights in a comfortable, central Bangkok hotel. Breakfast is included. This short Bangkok tour will ensure that you have a no-hassle arrival.

You'll be collected from the airport arrivals gate and taken directly to your Bangkok hotel. Photographs at the bottom of the page indicate the comfort level of our chosen hotels. If you would like to upgrade, please feel free to ask about alternatives. We will be more than happy to help.

You'll stay in a cosy Bangkok hotel with swimming pool in the centre of town, within easy walking distance of Khao San Road. The accommodation is comfortable and all of the rooms are fully-equipped with air conditioning. The most important sites can be easily reached by taxi or express river boat. Breakfast is of course included.

For approx £25 extra per person, you can stay in a wonderful boutique Bangkok hotel, only 5 minutes from Khao San Road, with the additional bonus of a rooftop swimming pool. Those looking for a touch of true class can opt for one of our even more luxurious hotels, which are available on request. Day 2: Bangkok Tuk-Tuk and Longtail boat tour

This morning you'll be met by your guide in the lobby of your hotel, and together you'll embark on an exciting drive through Bangkok by tuk-tuk. You'll travel to Thewet river pier where you will first visit the local 'fresh market and then board a classic longtail boat!

Your boat journey will give you a great insight into how much the city life still revolves around the river and its network of 'klongs' (canals). In some ways it is a trip through the past where you'll see wooden houses on stilts, local folks doing their laundry in the klongs, monitor lizards suddenly swimming by, and lots of other fascinating sights. Back at the pier again your guide will return you to your hotel by tuktuk! You should be back before noon, and the rest of your day is free to explore the city.

Day 3: Bangkok Departure

Your Bangkok Starter Pack ends this morning after a buffet breakfast in your hotel. It is possible to extend this module, if you wish to spend a few more days in Bangkok. We can also book your accommodation in the city for your final few days before you fly home.
