Easy Going Bangkok: on your bikeBangkok is a hectic city jam-packed with temples, markets, tuk-tuks and street vendors. Yet, other areas of the city tell a totally different story. After an airport transfer and one night in comfortable, central accomodation, you'll take a tour to the unexplored suburbs on two wheels. Your guide will lead you through the narrow pathways and khlongs (canals) of Old Bangkok, crossing the river by ferry and leaving the traffic behind. |

Day 1: Arrival in BangkokToday, you'll arrive in Bangkok. A driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your small hotel near the famous Khao San Road, with its own swimming pool and in-house tuk-tuk. The rest of the day is free for you to explore or relax at your own pace. There are many great sights within walking distance from your hotel, including the Royal Palace and the Reclining Buddha at Wat Po. Alternatively, you can simply take a swim, book a Thai massage or catch up on sleep before your Bangkok bicycle tour tomorrow.

Day 2: Bangkok bicycle tourToday, you'll begin with a buffet breakfast at the hotel and a free morning. This should give you plenty of energy for the trip ahead. You'll meet your guide and fellow cyclists in Chinatown at 1pm and get acquainted with your trusty bike. You'll then follow your Bangkok bicycle tour through the narrow lanes past simple suburban houses, pausing for a stroll through the local market. The community here is far more typical of Thailand at large. It is a land without air conditioning, shopping centres, and traffic jams. You'll cross the Chao Phraya River in a longtail boat to reach an oasis of green on the opposite bank. On this side, even the most important roads are little more than small paths above the khlongs (canals). After cycling through the fruit trees and taking a break for refreshments, you'll return to the noisy contrast of the city.
